THE FILM WE TRUST

Approved PURE PPF installer

PURE PPF Frost

8 mil clear TPU

12-year warranty

Frost is the same 8 mil TPU we fit clear, with a matte topcoat instead of a gloss one. It is formulated texture-free, so there is none of the grain or uneven light diffusion older matte films show — and the colour underneath stays exactly the colour you bought.

01 — Why Frost

Nothing else
does both.

A wrap changes how the car looks and leaves the paint exposed. Clear film protects the paint and leaves it looking exactly as it did. Frost is the one that does both at once.

If your car is gloss

A different car, for the price of protecting one. Frost takes your factory colour matte — deeper, flatter, no shine — and every panel it covers goes behind 8 mil of urethane. You are not choosing between the new look and maximum stone chip resistance. And it peels back to gloss whenever you want it to.

If your car is already matte

Bare matte paint is the most fragile finish on the road. It cannot be polished, it marks from one bad wash, and a chipped panel means a respray that will not match. Frost puts a healing, warranted surface over the top and takes all three problems away.

8 mil

Of urethane between a stone and your paint

Warranted against yellowing, cracking and bubbling

100%

Zero

Grain, orange peel or wrap seams

Frost going onto factory matte paint. The colour is the car’s own — the film is there to keep it that way.

How the film is built

Four layers, three of which stay on your car. The release liner comes off as we fit, leaving adhesive, urethane and topcoat working together — the urethane takes the impact, the topcoat takes the weather.

02 — Satin vinyl vs Stealth PPF

Same Look.
Different material.

Both give you a satin car. One covers the paint with a colour of its own, the other leaves your paint exactly where it is. Here is what separates them.

Satin vinyl wrap

Cast PVC with satin laminate

Stealth PPF

PURE PPF Frost clear TPU

Thickness

2–4 mil (50–100 microns) including laminate

8 mil (around 200 microns) — four times thicker

The colour underneath

Covered. The satin you see is the vinyl’s own colour, and your paint is hidden behind it

Unchanged. The film is clear, so you are looking at your own paint with the shine taken off

Stone chip protection

Superficial. Shields the paint from weather, light abrasion and wash marks, but a stone hard enough to chip paint still gets through

Absorbs the impact. Exactly the same protection as gloss PPF

Self-healing

No — and unlike a gloss wrap, satin vinyl cannot be machine polished to remove marks either

Yes. Heat closes scuffs within the topcoat and restores 100% of its matte finish

Keeping the sheen even

Handles, door edges and high-touch areas burnish over time and start to shine against the rest of the panel

A texture-free topcoat with no grain or uneven diffusion — it stays consistent across the panel and heals back to it

Washing

pH-neutral shampoo and two buckets, no wax or polish, and nothing that fills the texture

The same rules, with a hydrophobic topcoat doing half the work for you

Lifespan

Around 5 years, longer on a garaged car that is looked after

12 years, warranted

Warranty

Manufacturer cover on the material, our fitting alongside

12-year PURE PPF limited manufacturer warranty against yellowing, cracking and bubbling

The paint underneath

Minor superficial protection. It keeps the weather and light abrasion off, but stone chips still reach the paint

Protected the whole time. Comes off original and unchipped

04 — After it is fitted

Satin asks more of you.
So heres some useful aftercare.

SUPPORT EVEN AFTER THE INSTALL.

There is no polishing a satin finish back, so how it is washed matters more than it does on gloss. Everything that keeps it even is done here, in the unit that fitted it.

Every 6-12 months

Every 6-12 months

The Identity maintenance wash

A full service for the film, not a jet wash and a chamois. Half a day with the car on the ramp, done by the team that fitted it.

Two a year is what keeps a twelve-year film looking like a one-year film. Most owners book the next one before they leave.

Free guide

Washing a satin car

Seven days before the first wash, then pH-neutral shampoo and two buckets — and nothing with wax, gloss or filler in it.

Add-on

Gtechniq HALOv2

A ceramic coating formulated for film rather than paint. It bonds chemically to the Frost topcoat and becomes the outermost surface of it, flexible enough to move with the film and keep the self-healing working.

If the worst happens

Replaced panel by panel

Take a bad hit and only that piece needs redoing. Not the whole car, and not your paint.

Frost is one consistent finish rather than a batch colour, so a panel done years later still matches the rest of the car.

Owners who had film fitted here get help with all three after the install — ask us and we will tell you what your car actually needs, not what sells.

05 — Gallery

Recent work
in Frost.

Finished in PURE PPF Frost at our Kent unit. Nothing here is a colour change — every panel is the paint the car was built with.

06 — The paint underneath

The finish is
temporary.
The paint is not.

A satin respray is permanent and a satin wrap hides what it is sitting on. Film does neither: peel it and the car is gloss again, on the paint it left the factory with.

Resale

Satin narrows the buyer pool. Peel the film and it does not — the car goes back to standard gloss, on original, unchipped paint.

Lease handback

End-of-contract damage charges average around £300 and run past £750. Film comes off before the inspection and the paint underneath passes fair wear and tear.

Removal

Heat and patience, done here. Twelve years of stone chips leave with the film instead of staying in your clear coat.

Already wrapped with us?

Factory matte paint is the hardest finish to live with and the most expensive to repair, and a matte repair rarely matches the panels either side. Frost is built to go over it, protecting the paint and taking the risk of a repaint mismatch off the table.

7 — FAQ

Before you book it
in.

Satin vinyl or Stealth PPF?

If you want satin in a different colour to the one the car came in, or the lowest up-front cost, a vinyl wrap is the right buy. If you want your own paint turned satin, protected against stone chips and warranted for twelve years, Stealth PPF is worth the difference. We fit both and will give you a straight answer for your car.

No. The film is clear, so the colour is your paint. What changes is the reflection: a satin surface scatters light instead of mirroring it, which reads as a slightly deeper, flatter version of the same colour. Metallics and flake still show, they just stop sparkling in direct sun.

Yes — Frost is designed for it. Factory matte paint cannot be polished, marks easily and costs a fortune to put right, and a matte repair rarely matches the panels either side. Frost protects it, keeps the finish matte, and gives you a surface that heals with heat instead of one that has to be resprayed.

A strip and decontamination wash are included. Anything sealed under the film stays under the film, and satin is less forgiving of it than gloss — swirls and scratches read through as dull patches. If the paint needs correction we quote it separately and show you what it gains before you commit.

Yes. A satin roof and bonnet over a gloss body is a common ask, as is Frost on the front end with clear gloss film on the rest of the car. Tell us the split you want and we will price it as one job.

Around a week for a full car, less for a front end or track pack, longer on complex cars where more trim comes off. We agree the dates when the quote is fixed.

The colour on your V5C does not change, so there is nothing to update with the DVLA. Your insurer should still be told, as with any modification — it is a five-minute call and we will give you the film details for it.

Turn the shine off.
Keep the paint.

Tell us the car and how much of it you want covered. We will come back with a fixed price, the film details and the next available slot.

Not sure how satin will look on your colour? Bring the car down. We will put a sample of Frost on a panel and you can see it against the gloss before you commit.

No obligation — if gloss film or a satin wrap is the better buy for your car, we will say so.
